What is 4-H ?
4-H is a youth development program which is part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, a division of the Texas A&M University System partnering with local county government. 4-H membership is for anyone in grades 3-12, and those in K-2 can join the Clover Kids program. The 4-H program is built upon community clubs with volunteer Club Managers and Project Leaders. 4-H offers members hands-on experiences in leadership, community service, career discovery, building connections, and developing life-long skills.
Our mission is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where young people can learn, serve, and grow in their community. Liberty Hill 4-H Club
The Liberty Hill 4-H Club is dedicated to but not limited to serving the LH community. Our 4-H youth can serve as officers and learn to conduct meetings, handle club funds, and facilitate group decision-making and giving back to the community. 4-H members get involved in volunteer projects to protect the environment, mentor younger children and help people who are less fortunate. Once a month, we hold our Liberty Hill Club business meeting. During these meeting, the youth, parents, and project leaders come together to report on their past and future activities. We also celebrate the kids by recognizing birthday, competition winners and accomplishments by the youth.
In 4-H, the activities are organized by 5 major topic areas and called ‘projects.’ All 4-H members must be enrolled in at least one project. The 5 project areas are Agriculture & Livestock, Family & Community Health, Leadership & Citizenship, Natural Resources, and STEM. When you choose a project, you can learn everything there is to know about that topic. You will participate in various hands-on activities, learn new skills, do community service, and more!
The first step is to identify which projects you are interested in. Projects are led by volunteer youth and adults and will meet throughout each month at varies times and locations.
How do I join 4-H?
Once you have selected a project or two of interest, contact the project leader to get meeting times and locations. Also ask to get on their email list for future notifications. It is recomended you attend at least one project meeting before joining/registering. There is a one time fee to register (prices are listed below) for unlimited number of project meeting you may wish to attend. Some projects may have an additional cost for supplies, curriculum or equipment. See our individual project pages for more information on additional cost or contact the project leader.
To complete your enrollment: Both youth and adults must enroll online to become active members of Texas 4-H. Active enrollment is required to participate in meetings, events, contests, and all other 4-H activities. Each year around mid August, all Texas 4-H memberships reset to inactive. To remain involved, youth members and adult volunteers must re-enroll annually.

Youth members pay a $25.00 participation fee if enrolled by October 31, and $30.00 from November 1 through the end of the 4-H year.

Clover Kids (grades K–2), if available in your county, pay a $10.00 participation fee.

Adults pay a $10.00 volunteer applicant fee.
