Dog Care and Grooming

The 4-H dog project is an excellent way for young people to develop a love for animals, gain valuable skills, and contribute positively to their communities. It combines practical knowledge with hands-on experiences to promote personal growth and responsibility in youth participants.

In addition, you will learn about daily care and health of your dog, as well as what it means to be a “dog foster parent.” Beyond that, you can even do community service or participate in competitions with your dog. Most importantly, have fun as you build a bond with your dog and make friends who love dogs too!

You can do all sorts of activities, like:

  • Foster dogs, therapy or guide dogs

  • Competitions such as rally, agility, obedience, showmanship or conformation

  • Dog Photography

  • Dog career exploration

  • Canine good citizenship testing
